If you don't know what Fall of Cybertron is.....
Its amazing. Just plain ol' amazing. Never had this much fun in a video game in a while. The story is amazing and shows us the world of Cybertron before the heroic Autobots and vicious Decepticons made their way to Earth to fight their final battles over a already dead planet. What is really cool about this game is that it an official history of Cybertron before the war.
Thats right. For Hasbro....you are seeing the actual story of Transformers first hands as you play through the levels. War for Cybertron, the game's predecessor, was equally as good and by far an amazing game to play through. I loved being my favorite Transformers an the ability to play both sides of the war is crucial to gameplay and story telling. So it was fun being Optimus Prime and then Soundwave for most of the game. It also gives non-fans of the series a glimpse of life before Optimus Prime became well....a Prime as was just regular ol' Orion Pax.
But the people at Highmoon (who made the game) and Hasbro went all for none with WfC's sequel...Fall of Cybertron.
We see the final days before the exodus of both Autobots and Decepticons and we see the tell tale signs of the upcoming battles we all grew up with at one point or another between the mighty robot factions. The best thing about the game is as you've been playing autobot and decepticon......Starscream discovers the fate of a group of Autobot warriors that have been missing since the beginning of the game....

The Dinobot mode is just made of Rainbows and Heavy Weapons.
The Grimlock story line was fun. Not only are you a giant and pissed of Autobot with a limited vocabulary...you can do this when you get Grimlock Angry enough!:

Yep. If you are having a bad day....play this game. Nothing makes you feel better than smash and bashing everything that moves and then burning them with flame breath or eating them and spitting them up like scrap metal.
The story is great cause it does something that IDW has tinkered with and surprisingly it works really well which is Dinobots vs Shockwave. Shockwave is one of my (if not my all time favorite) Decepticon and the bittersweet hatred between the two sides in Grimlock story is fantastic. Its a real pity that Shockwave's usual voice was not used, not that I'm not complaining about Steve Blum doing it.
And then it brings me back to the begining.....in the Fall of Cybetron multiplayer..you can create your very own Transformer based on parts of models of Autobots and Decepticons seen in the game. And tomorrow....the Dinobots get added to that and frankly.....
I can't wait to be freaking MechaGodzilla tomorrow with the Tank class. And I'm excited to play as a Stegosaurus, Pteradon, and Triceratops as well.
Fall for Cybertron is for Steam (PC), Xbox 360, and PS3 and I highly recommend. Don't believe me its good cause its a Transformers' game? Check out its review. You won't find a rating below 8.5 for the most part.
